FRESHMAN ACADEMY

Dear Parent/Guardian:

One of our goals at Plymouth South High School is to increase both college awareness and college readiness levels of our students.  As a result, for the past few years, we have been administering the PSAT for all students in grades 10 and 11 during the school day at Plymouth South.  This year we are adding the SAT for our seniors paid for by the Plymouth Public Schools.  We have also added the College Board “ReadistepAssessment for our freshmen for the 2013-2014 school year.  This exam will take place on Wednesday, October 30th during the school day.
The exam is designed to help our students improve their skills and prepare them for the PSAT and SAT exams in future years.  The test is free of charge and the skills measured also align with the Common Core standards.  A few key highlights are:
·         Early indicators of college readiness
·         Tools to help improve test taking skills
·         Information to help our teachers work with your child.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s guidance counselor.  Your child’s results will be mailed home when they are received.  Thank you again.
Sincerely,

Marc A. Loranger
